How did a comedian/actor from the economically-challenged/notoriously-corrupt country of Ukraine become the President of the country ?
With the Ukrainian conflict this month, Volodymyr Zelenskyy was introduced to Ukrainian solidarity virtue signalers in thirst trap images that flooded Facebook and Twitter memepools. In my Facebook feed, liberals and conservative alike were suddenly erotically charged advocates of war with Russia.

Who is Volodymyr Zelenskyy?
After achieving a law degree, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy pursued a career in comedy and acting, eventually creating Kvartal 95 Studio, a publicly held production company operating since 2003. According to Zelenskyy, the objective of the company was to "make the world a better place, a kinder and more joyful place with the help of those tools that we have, which are humor and creativity".
Zelenskyy created the political satire TV series Servant of the People, where he stars as Vasyl Petrovych Goloborodko, a high-school history teacher in his thirties who is unexpectedly elected President of Ukraine. On 31 March 2018, a political party named after the television series was formed and Zelenskyy was elected actual President of actual Ukraine on 21 April 2019.
In his current role as Ukrainian president, Zelenskyy earns 28,000 Hryvnias annually, or just $930 USD per month. There is a lot of conflicting information on who the Ukrainian president was and is, what his finances are, and were. Is he worth $1.5 million? or 1.5 billion?
Servant of the People aired on the 1+1 Media Group. The main shareholder of 1+1 is Ihor Kolomoiskyi. Kolomiskyi is a Ukrainian born Oligarch that notoriously rose out of the fall of the Soviet Union, picking off former state-owned enterprises and developing a well documented career as a proficient money launderer of historical proportions with extreme theatrical sensibilities. He was (is?) also the main shareholder of Burisma Holdings Company, the energy company that became known in the U.S. as the catalyst for the Trump impeachment story (there is a Byzantium maze of shell corporations and shell games to sort through to understand who owns what and where and when when it comes to Burisma.)
Servant of the People actor Zelenskyy, becomes actual President Zelenskyy on an anti-corruption platform, while being backed by the most notorious Ukrainian Oligarch, Kolomoiskyi. Is this life imitating art? Or is this predictive programming?
Now let’s drop this actor on the world stage into much needed context. Let’s look back to 2016, before Zelenskyy’s anti-corruption political image, to the release of the Panama Papers. From the OCCRP (The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) -
Pandora Papers Reveal Offshore Holdings of Ukrainian President and his Inner Circle:
”The documents show that Zelensky and his partners in a television production company, Kvartal 95, set up a network of offshore firms dating back to at least 2012, the year the company began making regular content for TV stations owned by Ihor Kolomoisky, an oligarch dogged by allegations of multi-billion-dollar fraud. The offshores were also used by Zelensky associates to purchase and own three prime properties in the center of London.
The documents also show that just before he was elected, he gifted his stake in a key offshore company, the British Virgin Islands-registered Maltex Multicapital Corp., to his business partner — soon to be his top presidential aide. And in spite of giving up his shares, the documents show that an arrangement was soon made that would allow the offshore to keep paying dividends to a company that now belongs to his wife.”
This backstory of connections with the uber-corrupt make the man-of-the-people story hard to swallow, for me.
I recommend clicking on all the hyperlinks in this story. Historical context is crucially important to understanding the stage that Zelenskyy is acting on. It’s important to know about the Obama administration backed Ukrainian regime change in 2014. It’s important to understand the two sides of the story of the U.S. State Department backed Maidan Revolution (here is the story from the perspective of the revolutionaries: Winter on Fire. Stand with the Ukrainian people. Don’t be a witless tool of their suffering.
It is always the common people that suffer the greedy machinations of psychopathic societal engineers. The kind, caring, citizens of the world are easily manipulated into playing the eager audience for the cynical script writers of our daily dramas. The largest engines of Mis-, Dis-, and Mal-Information are you and I, if we don’t think before we share. The fuel for the fire that destroys our world is our own emotional reactions to prescribed propaganda. Think before you share. Research before you re-post. Try asking about the Who, Where, What, and When of a story before you become a part of it. Know the context. War is always the result of the failure of journalists to hold power accountable. In the age of citizen journalism, we all are the Fourth Estate.

Good backgrounder. The memes about Zelensky's "potency" so intermeshed with the tantric permanent wargasm are chilling. (eg "What are two things that can be seen from space? The great wall and Zelensky's balls." "If I caught Zelensky fucking my girlfriend I'd ask him how he took his coffee in the morning." I didn't know about the thoroughness of his enmeshment with the oligarrchs but it is not surprising. Why is Cyprus such the go to place for ill gotten slavic gains. The predictive programming aspect was most fascinating. For my cultural studies masters thesis I wrote "Rather than conspiracy theory, most media and intellectual gatekeepers prefer to view elite behavior through the lens of "somnambulist theory," "coincidence theory," "incompetence theory," or "spontaneity theory." No amount of intellectual gymnastics will be spared to avoid arriving at the conclusion that the rich and powerful, like the rest of us, might possibly act in support of their perceived best interests. This is, of course, in spite of a voluminous sociological literature on the power elite and “elite deviance,” a danger that laws against conspiracy are presumably designed to protect us from." Predictive programming needs to be a vital corollary/conflation with coincidence theory. The Simpsons 911 comic book cover is utterly extraordinary. How are the odds of this happening even calculable? Another incalculable event: Several years ago I had a cyber affair with my own personal manyusa rakshasi for three months, a person I hadn't seen in over 20 years. Then we dropped all contact with one another. Six months later I saw her and her boyfriend checking in to a random motel in Palm Desert when I went down to pay for another night. She didn't know I was. there. I didn't know she was coming to the area. Even if they had been in the building when I was, we all crossed paths for exactly the same three minutes it takes them to check in and me to pay for another night. I guess what I'm reaching for with this anecdote is that within and around coincidence theory, predictive programming, and Jungian synchronicity there is something more multi-layered, inter-dimensional, and unfathomable to us yet as carbon based sentient life forms. If the universe is infinite everything that is happening, has happened and will happen will happen again exactly as it has - and also also in odd variants.
